This test determines the existence of a genetic disposition towards the development of deep vein thrombosis caused by mutations in the genes for Factor V Leiden (R506Q), Factor II (prothrombin G20210), MTHFR (C677T) and PAI-1 (4G/5G)
The result of the analysis is obtained within 2-3 business days. 
Testing is recommended if there is a history of deep vein thrombosis in the family, or in the case of consecutive miscarriages. 
Samples from which this test can be performed are blood (1 ml, EDTA) or buccal swabs that should be left for 5 minutes to dry in air. The samples can be sent by mail.
